Working as an Oncology Consultant

Oncology consultants are responsible for providing important cancer care services. From diagnosing early-stage cancer symptoms to providing late-stage treatments and therapies, you&rsquo;ll be using your specialist skills and experience to provide important care to patients and their families.

<h3>What does an oncology consultant do?</h3>
As an oncology consultant, you&rsquo;ll be leading a multidisciplinary team to carry out a range of cancer treatments and therapies for your patients. Usually based at hospitals or in specialist oncology departments, you&rsquo;ll be using cutting-edge technology to help diagnose and treat cancers.
You&rsquo;ll also be working closely with patients and their families to help them recover. This may mean carrying out chemotherapy or using drug and hormone therapy. And, in some cases, you&rsquo;ll also be providing palliative care.
The daily responsibilities of oncology consultants are varied. You&rsquo;ll be:

<h3>What qualifications and skills do you need for oncology consultant roles with Medacs?</h3>
To work as an oncology consultant, you&rsquo;ll need&nbsp; specialist skills, qualifications as well as plenty of experience. Formal qualifications you will need include:
